This is a test shape that I've stained with a liquid brown shoe polish. The shoe polish came in a handy sponge applicator, so all I had to do was rub it on! It's a really dark brown, so I personally wouldn't use it on a doll, unless it were to be a mammy doll. I'd use it on other items like tags, make-do's, etc.

Oh my gosh, I make hang tags using the brown liquid shoe polish. I started it three years ago! I never knew anyone else would use this method for tags. It came for me out of not wanting all the mess with wet tags and drying them in the oven or sun...which I do, but the shoe polish stain is awesome, plus they smell s-o-o-o-o-o good!
