Here's my living room. Not very happy with it at the moment. I need some colors on the wall, and to get rid of that furniture! lol I like the vintage chair, just need to reapolsture it. Definately need a new couch! I love my ornie tree, I always put up different ornies for each season/holiday; though I don't have any on there right now. Need to get my pears up for summer!
Notice the barbies watching TV? lol That's what happens when you have a four year old girl! Wink
Anywho, what else can I do to cozy things up??

Kristal...love the chair, and I love to decorate!
If you're not afraid of color, try something unexpected on the walls. The primitive palette is full of color, but people usually go with the warmer tones. If you look at prim folkart, though, you'll see lots of cheery, bright colors as well. My home is full of bright color and old stuff/old looking stuff. I'll try to post some pics soon.

I notice also that your great display over the sofa is sort of high. If you bring that down some (more to eye level), I think you'll find that it will warm up the room as well. It will pull the room "down" yielding more coziness. It probably feels like you need to have it higher right now because the walls feel empty. Once you add color, no matter what you choose, to the walls, you'll see that it will tame that "empty" space.

I have a year-round tree, too! It's also empty Smile. Once you throw some color on there, that will warm up the space, too. Have you tried raffia on it? I put it on for Christmas just like you would tinsel, and it rocked! It adds a great prim feel.

I think your sofa is totally workable until you find that perfect replacement. It's a great neutral color. Find or make a prim or vintage throw/quilt to put across the back. Maybe that could be your source for wall color.

I can't wait to see what you try out! Yea! Sorry if I seem a little aggressive. I just love decorating so much. I may need therapy...

Have a good one!!!

Hi Myste, thanks so much for all the tips! Yah, now that you mention it, it does look kind of high in the photo! lol Great idea to put a quilt on the couch, it will definately spruce that up. Thanks!!
Don't forget to post pics soon, can't wait! Smile
